250 of homes across South Bay, San Diego benefited from the efforts of CB&T associates
SAN DIEGO – (April 8, 2024) – On Saturday, April 6, California Bank & Trust (CB&T), one of California’s leading banks, teamed up with the American Red Cross of San Diego and Imperial Counties to install 627 free smoke alarms for families in South Bay San Diego as part of a national Sound the Alarm effort. Sound the Alarm is part of a national Red Cross Home Fire Campaign that aims to reduce home fire deaths and injuries through providing disaster preparedness information, home fire safety instruction and the installation of free smoke alarms.
“We take our role in promoting home fire safety of the communities and customers we serve seriously,” said Executive Vice President of California Bank & Trust Steve Stuckey. “Partnering with the American Red Cross for this initiative is another example of how our employees rally around service opportunities and make a meaningful impact.”
Stuckey serves on the American Red Cross San Diego and Imperial Counties Chapter board of directors. The American Red Cross Southern California Region, which includes the Red Cross of San Diego and Imperial Counties, exists to provide compassionate care to those in need and is part of a nationwide network committed to preventing and alleviating suffering at home, across the country and around the world. The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides comfort to victims of disasters; supplies about 40% of the nation's blood; teaches skills that save lives; distributes international humanitarian aid; and supports veterans, military members and their families. All Red Cross assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people.
